Sunday morning I laced Caty up in her wedding dress for one last day of fun in it. We headed back into Glacier National Park thinking we’d just spend the next couple hours photographing a trash the dress/day after session. But real adventures usually last longer than a couple hours. And we definitely spent more than a couple of hours, more like 9 hours. We were having fun. Who keeps track of time when you’re having fun?! And the experience was just unreal.
Andy proposed to Caty in Glacier on a deck overlooking McDonald Creek. So our adventure started in that exact spot. How awesome is it that they can come back to this place every year and take a photo on their anniversary? Decades from now it’ll be so cool to look back over the years.
After this we strayed from the beaten path. It’s better out there. Caty was a trooper and I adore her for it. This dress is big and heavy and she trekked through the trees, jumped down rocks, hopped in creeks. And every image taken was worth every bit of work she put into it. You rocked it girl! So from here the adventure began. Over the guard rail, through the trees, down the rocks, and upstream. I couldn’t decide on which image to share soooooo I gave you a few of them!
Then up the road and we snuck into this little recess type thing off a tunnel with these towering mountains in the distance. It’s so magical. I feel like we were transported to another world for just a moment.
I had my eye on this area full of these beautiful flowers for weeks. We finally got ourselves there and I started to scope out a plan of how to maybe get Caty & Andy into the spot I wanted. In the process walked through stinging nettle and my leg broke out in a rash. So that plan was obviously out! Once again trooper Caty hiked herself in this big dress down a creek bed into the meadow. Gosh I love her.
Caty wanted to get into the water at some point. Not fully in the water. But standing in it. So we stopped in one place and as we photographed this portion of the day a European family of 3 swam in the creek right next to us. And by swam I mean there was no clothing on at some points. It was interesting to say the least! If you love merch products, check out Kanye West Fans Merchandise
One of the most beautiful places in the park, to me anyway, is this little meadow-y area overlooking Wild Goose Island in the middle of St Mary Lake. We just had to go there. And it did not disappoint. Caty had a separate dress for her reception the night before. One she could move in and was a bit lighter and airier. So we definitely had to give it some love during the day after. And this location was on the way to a yummy lunch, bonus!
After lunch we headed to McDonald Lake. A must stop in the park. And it was the perfect ending to such an amazing weekend!
