I was a bride before I was a wedding photographer. And honestly that has helped me in so many ways, but has also held me back in so many ways. I started my business from the viewpoint of a bride. Not a bad thing. But I failed to also view it as a business owner. I’m really not sure how to explain it exactly. Other than, a few months ago I realized I wanted specific brides and grooms, specific locations, etc. It was time to begin specializing my business, and focus there. And you’ve been there along the way 😉 Remember that post about a Tahoe wedding?
It’s still in process. I’m sooo excited. Friday I leave for California to take part in Jeff Jochum’s Fight Club. Learning all about business strategy and specializing. Perfect timing right? It was meant to be 😉 As the time approaches for the bookings of next season it’s important that I start defining who I am as a photographer and business. Today is the first step of many to come this summer. I am no longer just a wedding photographer. I am a MOUNTAIN wedding photographer! Which means specializing in mountain weddings!! If you (or someone you know) is getting married in the mountains, or an area surrounded by mountains, well than I’m your girl! In the weeks to come I’ll be sharing more on the direction of my business, but until then…. My new logo (SO FITTING) from my incredible designer Stacey Long <— Check her out!
