They’ve known each other since she was 4. Her brother played with Matt and his brother, and Schenaye always wanted to tag along. Matt would pick on her. One day his Mom warned him. “Matt, you should be nice to her. One day she might be your wife.”
And sure enough. Years later they became a couple. And after 16 years together, they finally got married.
There wedding is honestly one of my favorites of all time. Because of them. Because of their family. Because of their focus on what really matters in life.
Schenaye and Matt come to Montana from Alabama as often as they can to fish. Big Sky MT was the only place for them to get married. So they brought their family with them. Everyone getting ready together in the houses on the mountain. Followed by a quick first look and family photos up the hill. And an intimate ceremony at a small chapel in town. And then bbq and beer at a local restaurant. Horseshoes and laughter. Like I said laid back and chill.
What I loved most about these two is how important their family is to them. And that clearly they are just as important to their family since they all came from so far to celebrate with them. And rather than have bridesmaids and groomsmen they included their nieces, nephews, and their cousins children.
And Schenaye opted for a day after session, which was AMAZING! But they wanted to spend their wedding day with their family and enjoying time with them rather than running around taking photos. I respect that. And I’m certain their family is so appreciative of getting the whole day with them!
Tomorrow their killer day after session hits the blog. It’s sooooo good. So good in fact that as I watched The Game of Thrones finale I was culling and editing the day after session. I’m that excited about it that I had to work on it AS I watched Game of Thrones. That’s serious awesomeness! A little peek at tomorrow’s blog post, you’re welcome.
