I started 2015 drowning in self-doubt. Really that’s kind of a normal thing for photographers. After a winter/off-season with little shooting we start to doubt ourselves and our abilities. I’ve learned that this is my passion, this is something I just love doing, and as long as I keep that up front I can never be bad. At least not in my eyes 😉 As I pulled images I found it difficult not to include a thousand images! What an amazing year. I’ve still got it and I’m lucky enough to photograph the most amazing couples of all time every year. 2015 is certainly one of the best EVER!
I’ve been spending some quiet time at a small cabin outside of Seattle to start the new year and pulled out the hard drives to look through all of my 2015 images. At first I was thinking I needed to go pull the best images from 2015 as that’s what I’ve done every year but then it occurred to me that “the best” is kind of subjective. By no means are my images technically perfect. I have never been super particular on being exact technically with exposure or any such thing. I never started this with learning the technical aspects of my camera. I just wanted to preserve human connection. I’m just drawn to how an image makes me feel, or the story behind it. So this year I set out to just find my favorites. Which in a way are what I’m going to consider the best but I’m not going to tell you they are the best images I took all year…. technically. Even if you’ve read every blogpost from me this year… there are still a few in here I’ve never shared before!!!
* These are in no particular order 🙂 *
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
