10 days ago I packed my bags and hopped on a plane to California. Yes I literally pack just before getting on the plane. It’s how I roll. I think working at the airport during college and only being able to travel standby meant we made lots of last minute trips and didn’t pack in advance. So I don’t.

Hopped on a plane to LA, picked up a car and headed up to a friends house in Santa Barbara. I LOVE Santa Barbara. Such a good time when I get up there. Good hike, BOMB Saturday breakfast, the new spiderman movie. For the record I’m unsure why a whole new spiderman series is starting and it doesn’t make sense to me but I really like the new one MUCH better than the last series.

Then back down to LA and Anaheim for an amazing workshop.  I had the privilege of participating in Jeff Jochum’s Team-X Fight Club along with 5 other amazing individuals in the industry. We had our businesses deconstructed and stomped on and then rebuilt with more focus and clarity. It ended with us pitching our new businesses to Jeff and many photographers watching it streamed online. They voted, like American Idol, and then a winner was crowned. The winner happened to be ME! Ah! So exciting!!

The following night Jeff, Trevor Dayley (a friend, and fight club participant) and myself were guests for Showit’s Global SHARE meetup streamed all over the world. Such an incredible opportunity and great time. I met SO many incredible people during that!

Then it was hopping back on a plane up to my favorite city, Vancouver, BC. Drove out to Chilliwack to stay with my dear friend Justine.  Justine also happens to be a wedding photographer (Justine Russo Photography).  I was able to tag along and second shoot for her on a wedding this weekend. I’m soooo excited her and I are doing some shooting together this week and she gets to second shoot for me! YAY!
