Last week I had a photoshoot in Leavenworth, Washington. It’s secret sauce so I can’t share it with you. BUMMER cause it rocked. Leavenworth is AMAZING! Rather than driving home after the session, I drove to my second home. Vancouver. I was closer to it anyway, it only makes sense!
I’ve been spending time in Vancouver every single month since December. I love it there. I just keep going back. I can’t stop. Won’t stop. But the last few months have been crazy hectic every time I go. I’m fortunate to have so many friends up there. But, everyone wants to see me. There’s this meet up happening. This one other thing is happening. Oh you should do this. And then, hey, I know you’re exhausted but enjoy that boring 9.5 hour drive home. So this time I wanted to relax a bit and just enjoy it. Take in the Vancouvs life.
I did. A whole week. Morning run in the sunshine under cherry blossoms (OMG!). Working outside as the sun warmed my skin and the breeze through my hair. Girls day with one of my best friends… without any children! WHAT?! Coffee and donuts with new friends. Pool time. Adventure day with my girlfriends. Exploring the city. And acting more excited than all of the other children at the aquarium. Because I was that excited! 😉 I think I just said more than the other children as if I’m a child. I might be. Vancouver really is my second home. So grateful that I get to spend more and more time there.
I’m going back in 22 days. Told you, I can’t stop. Hurry up 3 weeks!
Adventure day with Justine & Laura is possibly my favorite time of the trip. The girls drove into North Vancouver to hang out. Grab coffee. Girl talk. We had to show Justine Capilano Lake and explore around Cleveland Dam. It’s so stunningly beautiful there. I just love any chance to go walk through those woods. Since we’re all photographers you know a camera made its way into at least one bag. And through all of the ridiculousness that happened Laura managed to photograph Justine and I in the best light. Seriously. I’m sure anyone who passed us thought I was an idiot. Not saying their thoughts were wrong by any means. But somehow our friends see past our ridiculousness and see beauty. I really love seeing the way others see life. We all see it in our own way.
And although 90 minutes of shooting wasn’t on our agenda, I’m grateful for that time. I suck at following agendas anyway 😉
All photos by the incredibly talented and oh-s0 lovely Laura Anne!
