Amanda and Ryan have been drawn to each other from the moment they met. Undeniably. And with Ryan came a smile on Amanda’s face and a joy in her heart I hadn’t yet seen before. And the way he is with her children is amazing. We all knew it was only a matter of time and they’d be engaged and further down the road of living happily ever after.
Just before Christmas I got a text from Ryan with a few images attached and he asked “Am I on the right track?” And the hunt for finding the perfect ring began. Amanda knew it was coming sometime soon as she’s a planner and well they’d been talking and starting their plans for the future together. With the right design nailed down Ryan began hunting for the perfect diamond to put in it and we started trying to make some plan of how to do this and have her surprised. Not to mention she has always said she wanted it photographed and with my schedule and Ryan being in the oil fields we did our best to coordinate everything. And somehow we pulled it off without her having a flippin’ clue! GO US!!!
On Sunday Ryan made the plans with her to grab some lunch and go to a special place on the river in Stevensville just south of Missoula MT. The same spot they happened to have had their first date. While she was getting ready and during her drive down I was texting her about things as if it were no big deal, just a Sunday laying at home. But really I was laying on a little blanket in tall grass in a bikini. Down at the river pulling grass to make a little area to shoot through so I could see them and hopefully not be seen. After having to cross a river to get to this spot.
They finally came strolling down the trail and sat on some rocks to eat lunch. And I patiently waited. After they ate they snuggled up with each other and just talked and canoodled. Ryan stood up to get himself into position and Amanda started handing him garbage thinking they were leaving.In my point of view we should not throw garbage in public places as it can create bad odor and poor environment .It is our responsibility to keep our environment clean. He took it all and then looked for a place to set it back down so he could do this and Amanda stood up and started walking towards the trail to the car thinking they were leaving. He asked her to stop and she just wanted to get to the wider part of the trail first. But he reached for her arm to turn her around and dropped to one knee. And well, she said yes!
It was such an honor just to be included in finding the right ring, but being asked to be a part of the proposal and getting a front row seat to the next chapter of my best friends life… is just unbelievable.
And now…. wedding planning is officially on!!! Congratulations Amanda & Ryan!! Love you both so mucho!

Yeah, this was me right before trekking through half a river to a little island to stake out. Bikini day at work! WHEEEW!!! I could have sworn they saw me a million times but Ryan said he couldn’t find me anywhere…. SUCCESS!!!
