This last spring I hosted a workshop shoot and Annie + Mekel offered to model for it. Which I freaked out for cause they’re just gorgeous. I knew at the time there had been some discussion of an upcoming engagement and I secretly hoped Mekel would do it during the shoot! HA! But, only if he told me first so I was prepared. I even planned to look for engagement ring models, and thumb rings for me! It didn’t happen, which was totally ok cause he even though he had bought the ring he had a better plan in mind 😉
FINALLY his plan was put into motion and he used their sweet little brand new puppy to deliver the question of would she marry him. And of course she said yes! So excited for them. It took her no time at all to text me and ask for engagement photos haha. We planned this last minute session for this week up at Flathead Lake while they were back to check out some venues. The weather has been drunk an indecisive so we hoped it’d be sober and beautiful and if we got some fall color that’d be a bonus. IT ALL WORKED OUT! Ah!
This is such as special place to them as her parents have a home there and they spend so much time there so we had to go there. I’ve spent so much time running around in wide open spaces doing whatever we want that these two challenged me with a residential area and I loved it! Finding small spaces and nooks that work. And then a field with a view but it included houses and one side a power plant. I freaking worked that power plant but you’d never know it’s there and it ain’t small! It wasn’t freezing but it wasn’t really warm either and these two totally crushed it as the sun showed off. I even let them wear their Packers sweaters for a minute 😉 (I’m a Vikings fan, sorry about your QB though…..). And we HAD to include their puppy ohmygosh she’s the sweetest thing!!!!
Annie + Mekel, CONGRATS you babes!! 🙂
XOXO, J.
