Jamie and I actually met a couple years ago on a double date dinner kinda thing with our exes. It was a short dinner and slightly awkward as she was dating my best friend ex…. who happened to be my exes best friend. Yea, wrap your brain around that. But life happened and after that dinner I didn’t see her again. Although we do live in small town america and I heard through the grapevine that she had moved, moved back, found a man, etc.

Then one day out of the blue she messaged me on Facebook saying she had gotten engaged and wanted to meet to discuss photography. I didn’t expect anything that would come next. I honestly was surprised to hear from her considering our weird first meeting. We sat for coffee and talked about everything in our lives other than her wedding. Literally leaving for other appointments without ever talking about it. Just connecting as women, single moms, being entrepreneurs and our struggles and relating on the tragic loss of an immediate family member. Which I have to say is something I never wish to have in common with others, but when I do those relationships I hold on tight to. But they are unchosen moments that redefine our entire lives. And though time may heal the wound a deep scar is left behind. It’s a treasure to have someone in your life who sort of gets it.

We started to meet for coffee often always with the intention of talking wedding and it just never seemed to happen. Which I’m okay with. In this time she has become a support, a mentor, my financial advisor but most importantly a sweet friend. She is strong yet tender and its hard to find a man who can balance that out just right, but Cam is perfect for her. Together they are undeniably happy and in madly in love. It has been such a great privilege to just witness it. I’m so thankful for them and their friendship and I can’t wait for their wedding in Mexico this winter!!!!! We finally made time for their Missoula MT engagement session and I’m so excited to share them!!!
