So I said I was going to post this last week and well I’ve been lingering! So here’s how the story goes. Last year I decided I wanted to really start working on my photography. I had a rocky start I’ll tell you that! Some friends came to me and asked if I would photograph their engagement photos. My answer: Pshh YA! I got this. I’ll so do them!
I realized real fast that I had quite the task ahead of me. I started researching poses and stuff and gathering as many lightroom presets as possible. Then asked my friend Molly to put on a dress and meet me so I could get some practice in. I REALLY wanted to start working on shooting manual. I really didn’t even know what that meant and thought it meant to switch my focus to manual. Ya, that is my beginning. I have taken my time on this, thinking do I really want to share all of this with you, do I really want to share these images with you?
Finally, I decided yes. I’m not ultimately proud of the images I took that day. I am proud of how much I’ve changed, and learned over the year. There are lots of newer photographers these days and we all have to start somewhere. If you work hard, take in as much info as you can, practice, you can be great! I love that there is ALWAYS something new to learn or explore with photography. This industry is CONSTANTLY changing. We have to learn to roll with and run ahead. If you can’t roll with the punches you’re going to get left behind. If you can’t push yourself to run ahead you’ll just be part of the crowd. I’m always pushing myself to run ahead, sometimes I trip and fall, but I get back up. I’m excited that in the next few weeks I’ll be sharing with you some of the amazingly talented people within our industry!! So stay tuned for THAT!
