One of my favorite things about destination weddings is that they almost always include day after sessions. Why wouldn’t they? And we certainly didn’t skip it last month in Mexico when I helped Meg with Steph & Mack’s wedding. We had a different plan for the day. Morning came quicker than we wanted to and where we wanted to go they told us no way no how. So we walked and walked and walked down an old dirt road sweating our asses off carrying too bags of gear and clothes and just stuff, until we found a path to a little beach in Tulum Mexico …. with no one on it!!
Day afters are the best cause there is no stress. Other than trying to quickly run conversions and make sure the taxi driver isn’t ripping you a new one. Just taking time to get away from the resort a bit. Walk barefoot in the sand. Miles of empty beach. Laughing. Stephanie dancing in her dress. The wind blowing through her hair. Just STUNNING. Climbing out on rocks. Scaring iguanas. These two embracing and kissing as Meg and I scream with excitement as we looked at the back of our cameras. And that deep turquoise blue water as far as you can see. And on the way back to the resort we took a little detour and stopped at one of my favorite places a little shack with legit mexican tacos, the best pico de gallo and fresh watermelon juice in Akumal. Even somehow getting a huge container of pico de gallo for FREE to take back to our room and devour later.
So fun to spend a week in Mexico with one of my best friends and these two and their friends and family. So grateful. And damn do they look good in camera!!! 🙂
Til next time Mexico!
