The Season of Giving

I'm Jackie

Traveling wedding photographer + photography/small biz educator.

Mesmerized by the way two people love each other, each so uniquely.  I always leave room for dessert. Believe swear words are just sentence embellishers. Think indulgences are necessary in this life.

hey hey

Parties with all the best people in their lives.

Love stories in all forms without the white dress... or maybe they wore white, it happens.

Just my little thoughts on different topics of planning your wedding day big party or just you two.

Stories of two lovers making it all about them, as they should.

It’s Christmas time. The season of giving. It’s kind of funny to think back to being a kid. Honestly thinking back I feel a little selfish. Spending this time of the year just getting excited thinking about what I was going to get for Christmas. What was under the tree for ME?! And as I grew older that shifted. There’s now more excitement in giving. The realization that there is far more joy involved in giving to others than in receiving.

I’m lucky to be a part of an industry FULL of some of the most giving people I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. And this Christmas, one really stands out.  Tracy. A mischevious photographer from Montana. Her and her husband, Matt, decided a few months ago they had a lot to give to the children and villages in Tanzania. And they left home for a few months this winter to help villages get clean water and help children receive better educations. I couldn’t be more proud to call these people friends.

As we all spend the next couple of days gathered around the tree with the ones we love, giving, Tracy & Matt are in Mafia Island without their family giving everything they have to others. And I know this Christmas they have just one wish.

To be able to give more.

And, we can help them.

The children there are in desperate need of a better education and supplies to make that happen. If you have just a little give to them, it would go sooooo far. Tracy has set up a fund to give back to those in need in Mafia Island. You could give just $5 or $10 (whatever you want) or choose exactly what you want to give. Soccer balls, pencils, field trips, etc. for these kids.

Will you join me in not just giving to the children of Tanzania but also giving some Christmas joy to Tracy & Matt?!

Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays to all of you and your loved ones!!!
